The third annual GPFI Forum was held in St. Petersburg, Russia, on October 21-22, 2013. Hosted by Russia’s G20 Presidency, the GPFI Forum was attended by representatives from G20 countries, non-G20 countries, GPFI Implementing Partners and other stakeholders and interested parties.

Leaders of the G20 welcomed progress made by the GPFI on advancing financial inclusion. In their declaration released at the end of the Summit in St. Petersburg, Russia, on September 6, 2013, the G20 Leaders endorsed the recommendations of the GPFI Report.

At their Summit in St. Petersburg, Russia, the G20 Leaders supported new measures to track progress towards financial inclusion. The Leaders endorsed the G20 Financial Inclusion Indicators developed by the GPFI and designed to assess the state of financial inclusion by measuring access to, use and quality of financial services.

The GPFI Report to the G20 Leaders summarizes GPFI activities throughout the end of 2012 and the eight months of 2013, presents the main achievements under the Russia’s G20 Presidency and describes the outlook for the rest of 2013 and into the start of the Australian Presidency. Building on the work summarized in the report, the GPFI elaborated four recommendations for the G20 Leaders to endorse at their Summit in St. Petersburg, Russia.
