PrintScheduled for 10-11 September at The Hague, Netherlands, the Workshop on Financial Inclusion of Forcibly Displaced Persons will bring together policymakers, regulators, and other oversight officials. Representatives of academia and the private sector, including experts from financial technology startups, are also expected to attend.
The main objective of the Workshop is to enhance the ongoing policy dialogue about the financial inclusion of people who are forcibly displaced. It is estimated that 68.5 million people worldwide were forced to leave their homes in 2017 due to conflict or other disruptions beyond their control.
Workshop participants are expected to draw up a roadmap that will be presented to G20 Ministers and Governors in the future.
