The Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI) held its first plenary meeting under the Argentine Presidency on 7 February 2018 in Buenos Aires. The day-long event enabled attendees to gain a better understanding of Argentina’s priorities and chart a path for the year ahead.
Organised around four sessions, the Plenary took a deep dive into Argentina’s main theme of digitisation and informality. It also enabled the various GPFI subgroups to update their terms of reference and finalise their work plans accordingly.
Topics covered during the sessions include ongoing efforts on remittances and the financial inclusion of forcibly displaced persons.
Delegates will meet again in June at the next GPFI Plenary meeting in Buenos Aires.
